I started this blog in July 2006 as a great way to document my pregnancy and share information about the pending birth of our first child with our friends and family. Now that Tyler and his baby sister, Jenna, have arrived it serves to record the benchmarks and daily progress of their lives.

new boots
Breaking in her new boots, a gift from the Trickeys, on her way to dance class. She receives so many compliments on them.

wedding proposal
Tyler told me tonight that when he grows up, he wants to marry me. I explained the mommies and daddies don't marry their babies and that he'd meet someone special and want to marry that person someday. After just a few beats, he decided that he could be interested in Holly from his class or his friend Jenna from another kindergarten class.

growing like a weed
With the fall chill, Tyler switched to long pants this morning. We noticed his size 7 jeans were JUST fitting, so I measured him again. Sure enough, another half inch in less than a month! OMG!

missing trickeys already
The long weekend with the Trickeys didn't seem so long after all. How did the time fly so quickly? We sure packed in a lot of good memories though!

dance, soccer, shopping and s'mores!
A full Saturday! Anna and Kate joined me at Jenna's dance class and Diana and Oma went to Tyler's soccer. We all met up on the field to catch the tail end of the soccer game in which Tyler scored two goals! Diana, Anna and I spent the afternoon in historic Ellicott City. Then we punctuated the fun day with an inaugural s'mores making session in our new fire pit table. Yum!

trickeys in town
Most of the Trickey ladies have come to visit us. Diana, Anna and Kate were able to spend the long weekend with us. We missed Ali who is at college. But Jenna and Tyler sure loved paling around with Cousin Kate!

holding hands with tyler
Walked hand and hand to Tyler's school today,
volunteered in his classroom and ate lunch with him. All the while he
was beaming with excitement. Soaking it in while it lasts!

zip cord
Jenna has been trying to convince me that I
should build her a "zip cord" in the backyard. The selling point is that
I can ride on it up in the air. Daddy and Tyler too. But not Ruby.

ruby
In little more than a year since we brought Ruby home, she has proven to be a valued member of our family. Partly because of our energetic cocker spaniel, we fenced in the backyard. Between the fence and the new patio, the entire Campbell family has migrated to an outdoor group. And best of all for Ruby...she has a safe place to play fetch now!

puzzle partners
Tyler and I sure love our puzzles. We brought this one back from Mt. Rushmore for Tyler. Even though it was really more of an advanced puzzle, Tyler worked so hard on the edges and several key areas. Now he zooms through the smaller ones that I get him. He has a bright puzzle-solving future ahead of him!

not our kid anymore
Did our 3 year old really just say, "I'm not your kid anymore!" Needless to say that skipping a nap didn't work out well.
bathroom trip
It is inevitable right? We're headed to dance
class and as soon as she has all the gear on (leotard, tights, skirt,
hoodie and shoes) a trip to the bathroom is in order!

rainbows
Jenna's most favorite things are rainbows! So much so that when I asked her what she wanted to be for Halloween, her response was "a rainbow!" I found this tutu on Etsy and she loved the idea of being a rainbow ballerina. Here is the sneak preview.
