I started this blog in July 2006 as a great way to document my pregnancy and share information about the pending birth of our first child with our friends and family. Now that Tyler and his baby sister, Jenna, have arrived it serves to record the benchmarks and daily progress of their lives.

focusing
There are many times that Tyler wants our attention in the back seat while we are driving. We've had to explain that we must focus on driving. On this day, Tyler reminded Alex, "No Dad, you are focusing on driving!"
last day of 2010
On the last day of 2010, we visited Justin at work at Target. We spent our New Year's Eve playing cards with Justin, his girlfriend Jessica, and Granny and Gramps.

we love disney
The Campbells headed to Disney Magic Kingdom for a day of wonder, parades and fun! We started off the day with curbside seats to the midday parade. Alex went ahead and scored an outdoor lunch table with a view of Cinderella's castle. We enjoyed the Buzz Lightyear ride and Alex and Tyler zoomed around a track in a race car. We liked the parades so much that we watched it all over again in the afternoon, or at least we did while Jenna napped. Tyler must have been looking really cute because for a second time someone squeezed over so Tyler could sit curbside for the show. After a train ride we saw the evening light parade before catching a glimpse of Cinderella's castle drizzled in lights. So worth the trip!

excited misha
We joined Granny and Misha on a walk to the park. We had lots of fun on the slides and Tyler got to see a lizard (and accidentally step on its tail which then fell off).
On the way home we passed another pedestrian and when Misha lunged at him Tyler yelled, "No Misha, he is not food, he is a person!" Hilarious.

florida christmas
We arrived in Florida late afternoon on December 26 and started the Christmas celebration the next morning. Tyler was immediately stuck to the sides of his cousins or "friends" as he calls them. Jenna's two naps on Christmas Day now made sense as it was clear she now had a bad cold, but she managed pretty well. Both kids were simultaneously thrilled and terrified of Granny and Gramps's new dog Misha.
We also had a visit from Santa (aka, Justin's friend). Being that Justin's friend was the only black person in our group, Tyler quickly put two and two together and asked the friend when he returned if he was just pretending to be Santa. When we assured him that the friend had just missed seeing Santa, Tyler seemed convinced but I was shocked that he would put it together at four years old!

christmas is finally here!
Tyler wore his new santa skull PJs especially for the occasion. Both kids loved diving into their stockings. However, Jenna was a bit overwhelmed by all of the presents and hoopla; we ended up opening many of her presents for her while she colored contently. Although she was interested in checking out her new doll house before taking an early nap. Tyler's gift from Santa this year was an aircraft carrier, so cool!
