Well the Campbells' costumes were all wings this year. Tyler was thrilled to be a dragon and Jenna loved fluttering around as a butterfly. The kids were so pleased with our costumes I had to hide them prior otherwise I think they would have been sleeping in them!
And without any prior planning, Tyler's best buddy Luca was a knight. What could be better than knight and dragon holding hands and squealing with candy delight. And Jenna was just able to mumble out a few words that resembled "trick or treat" although she had the "tank eww" down pat!
I started this blog in July 2006 as a great way to document my pregnancy and share information about the pending birth of our first child with our friends and family. Now that Tyler and his baby sister, Jenna, have arrived it serves to record the benchmarks and daily progress of their lives.

happy birthday uncle dylan
We celebrated Uncle Dylan's birthday a day early and asked him what kind of cake he'd like for his birthday. His request was red velvet. Neither Tyler nor I had ever made one, but I must say our first crack at it was superb!

home with tyler
Tyler has seemed to come down with a cold and/or stomach virus so we kept him home from daycare today. Jenna has the same sniffles but Tyler has stomach issues that Jenna has not exhibited (yet)! He must have pooped six or seven times in a row last night. This morning he added a cough to the mix, but otherwise still seems in good spirits. Fingers crossed that Jenna skips the whole ordeal.

new words
Jenna said "nanas" while trying to reach for a bunch of bananas on the kitchen counter and then said "duck" when Daddy asked her to while playing.

touch a truck event
What an amazing event and fun-filled day! Baltimore Washington Medical Center filled a parking lot with nearly every type of vehicle and then let the kids hop in and try them out! As you can imagine Tyler thought he had died and gone to heaven. We tested out a police cruiser, fire truck, garbage truck, concrete mixer, ambulance, airport runway snow plow, tow truck, coach bus, UPS freight truck, mail delivery truck, military vehicles, mobile command unit, and a State Police helicopter that landed on the nearby helipad!

uh oh
Jenna's turn! Tyler used to say this phrase nonstop as a little one and now Jenna has picked it up. So cute!

seeing stars
Tyler and I decided to put glow-in-the-dark stars on his bedroom ceiling this weekend. I really wanted him to have a say, so he picked out the locations as I popped them up. But my boy likes to be even more involved and asked to put them up himself, which is a bit difficult given the location! But we managed -- I put him on my shoulders and stood on my toes so that he could reach. He loved it and was so proud of the results!

fever
Jenna woke from her Friday afternoon nap with a fever, which has lasted through today. Thankfully it seems to have subsided and we avoided any throw up or major illness. She's a trouper!
